About Free Safety Report

Free Safety Report gives construction crews a free way to write a job hazard analysis, look up controls for common hazards, and run a toolbox talk without paying for software or creating an account.

The site is built and paid for by ResponseVault. ResponseVault turns paper jobsite forms such as JHAs, daily reports, and inspections into digital forms that crews fill out on a phone and that update Procore. You will see links to ResponseVault on this site. Using the free tools does not require you to buy anything.

How the guides are written

A new guide goes up every Monday. Each one is written for foremen, superintendents, and safety coordinators on U.S. construction sites, and most include a toolbox talk that can be read to a crew in about five minutes.

Regulatory claims are checked against the text of the standard on osha.gov or another primary source, and each guide lists its sources. Federal OSHA rules are the baseline. State plans, owners, and contracts can add requirements, so check what applies to your work. The guides are general information and are not legal advice.

Privacy

This section describes what the site does with data. It was last updated on October 5, 2026.

JHA builder

  • Your JHA is saved in your browser's local storage on the device you are using. It is not uploaded while you work on it.
  • Print and save as PDF happen in your browser. Nothing is sent to us.
  • Copy share link puts the JHA, minus the signature, into the part of the link after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part to the server, but anyone you give the link to can read the JHA.
  • Email PDF sends the JHA, the recipient addresses, and your name and email to our server. The server turns the JHA into a PDF with a PDF rendering service (browserless.io) and sends it through an email service (Postmark) from noreply@responsevault.com. You are copied. ResponseVault may keep a record of the email in its customer relationship system (HubSpot). The server does not store the JHA after the email is sent.

Analytics and fonts

The site uses Google Analytics and Fathom Analytics to count visits and clicks on links, including links to ResponseVault. Fathom does not use cookies. Fonts load from Google Fonts. These services receive your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
