Struck-byOSHA Focus Four
Vehicle and public traffic
Workers struck by public traffic in road work zones, or by delivery trucks and site vehicles. Signs, signals, and barricades in construction follow Subpart G, which points to the MUTCD for traffic control.
Where it shows up
- Road and utility work next to live lanes
- Flaggers at site entrances
- Delivery trucks backing into tight sites
- Work in parking lots that stay open
Controls, most effective first
Work down the list. Rely on PPE only for the risk the controls above it cannot remove.

| Engineering | Traffic control set up to the MUTCD, with barriers where speeds are high |
